To be clear:
Dieting is not like getting out of a bad relationship.
Dieting is not like quitting smoking.
Dieting is not like quitting drinking.
Dieting is not like quitting drugs.
This is because food is not a partner who abuses you. Food is not a carcinogen. Food is not an intoxicant. Food is not, in fact, like “drugs” – which is way too broad a statement anyway because there are many drugs one can do and some people DO have legitimate addictions.
This is, it is probably worth mentioning, inspired by a couple of recent troll comments. I don’t approve this kind of bullshittery because no one needs to see that but sometimes something is just so ridiculous….
The thing is, you can’t QUIT FOOD. You need it to survive. It contains this magical thing called nutrition, which is what our bodies require since we can’t do photosynthesis, mores the pity.
